A Romantic Short Hairstyle Tutorial with Unwash

With Valentine's Day barreling towards us like a doily-bedecked freight train, my thoughts can't help but turn to romance and all-things pretty. And when it comes to hair, it doesn't matter what color, length or texture you have; healthy locks that make you feel good say pretty to me. Lately I've been cleansing my hair with Unwash, and I wanted to share a short hairstyle tutorial that makes the most how soft and shiny my strands have been looking!

Unwash is a bio-cleansing conditioner that replaces both conventional shampoo and traditional conditioner in your daily routine. Its sulfate- and paraben-free formula both removes dirt and buildup but also seals in moisture, making it perfect for everyone from fine-haired gals like me to coarse and curly types. It's left me with hair that I really want to put in the spotlight—in this case with a relaxed yet romantic take on a vintage 20's hairstyle.

Here's the scoop on how to create this look. Prep hair with a styling spray or root lifter (not shown). Divide hair into 3-inch sections and use a medium-barrel iron to create a curl that whorls under and rests horizontally against your head. Pin with a metal clip so the curl will cool in place, and spray with a flexible hold hairspray. Repeat (making sure that all sections curl in the same direction!) until all hair is curled, pinned, and cooled. (Bonus points if you go to the grocery store looking like this.) Remove pins and backcomb gently at the roots, then use comb to coax curls into sculpted waves. Pin and hang out for a while so the style can set further, then remove pins, fluff with fingers as needed, and spray once more. Ladies of Downton Abbey and Peaky Blinders, eat your hearts out!
