I am notoriously hard to shop for. My taste is very particular, and if there's something I want badly enough during the year, I find a way to get it myself. It makes it nearly impossible to surprise me! In fact these days, most of my friends and family simply say, 'Just tell me what you want and pretend you're surprised when you open it.' It doesn't leave much room for holiday magic, now does it?
But something tells me I'm not the only gal in this situation. Because Cuyana—my favorite resource for timeless, beautifully made leathergoods and apparel—has come up with a solution they call the Holiday Hint. They'll mail you a cute blank card that's perfect for sending a subtle but direct message to Santa. Conversely, you can ask the discerning recipients (psst, mom?) in your life to fill out a card or send an email hint to help guide your own shopping. The result? Everyone rests easy knowing that only smiles wait under the Christmas tree this year!
Haha, everyone in my family is the same! I love telling people what I wish for, though, as I get exactly what I need and want, and what’s better than that? This year I’m wishing for (and will receive) Ikea’s jungle print china, some Rosendahl pieces and lots of pillar candles. I don’t need to be surprised, as I’m happy just to get my hands on these pretty/useful things. Also, I don’t like to receive gifts that I don’t like or need, and never know what to do with these items without hurting the giver. Therefore, I love it when people give wine and food, as those always come in handy. And candles. Lots of candles.
