You know that boutique that you could visit every day if your schedule allowed? The one that feels as comfortable and inviting as your own living room—if indeed your living room were stocked with an ever-evolving selection of clothes, accessories, and homewares from your favorite labels and then some? Well, welcome to Individual Medley in Los Angeles' Atwater Village neighborhood. It's the most stylish home-away-from-home you'll ever visit!
Individual Medley opened just over a year ago and quickly became one of my favorite pop-in spots. For your wardrobe, husband and wife proprieters Justin and Monica stock denim from Current/Elliott, soft cotton shirting from Bridge & Burn, as well as must-haves from a host of under-the-radar labels. There's also a rotating selection of vintage finds like old college sweatshirts and Mexican sundresses.
But the best thing about Individual Medley is the atmosphere. Incense fills the air with a distinctive campfire scent; a big sofa begs you to sit and stay awhile; regular workshops ranging from floral arranging to an indigo dying class create an air of community and conviviality. You don't have to buy something to fall in love. But the odds you'll want to are high indeed!
