Twenty-four hours doesn’t sound like much, and indeed, some days I barely muster the time to shower and change into real clothes. But with the right team, a heck of a lot can get done in two rotations of the clock. For example, one day is how long it took the folks at Decorist and ATG Stores—along with a roster of eight seriously talented interior designers!—to install each and every hand-picked piece in the Decorist Seattle Showhouse. What made the feat even more impressive was that prior to the day of installation, every step in the design process had been performed virtually via the Internet!
It’s a feat that I frankly can’t fathom. Imagine creating an entire house solely using pieces you’d only ever seen on your computer screen! Yet that’s what the designers at Decorist do every day, guiding homeowners from afar in their quest to make interior design services accessible to everyone. To highlight the power of virtual design, they set themselves the task of creating a showhouse exactly the same way they work with clients: by crafting a clear aesthetic vision and then scouring the online marketplace to bring it to life.
Of course the Internet is a big place, so it helps to have some help editing it down to only the best, and that’s where ATG Stores came in. Their vast selection is an interior designers toystore, and they provided every item in the two-story open concept home—from furnishings and accents to fixtures and hardware. I flew up to Seattle to see the showhouse in person myself and was blown away by every square inch! The textures and colors, styles and silhouettes…I was on inspiration overload the moment I set foot in the door. Knowing that only twenty-four hours earlier the house had been completely empty was simply the icing on a seriously beautiful cake!
