Summer. It's in full swing. But now that we're grown-ups, it doesn't mean what it did when we were kids, huh? No three-month vacations, no themed day camps (I went to circus camp!), no guiltless thrice-daily popsicle habits. Yet I remain convinced that we can harness the same carefree spirit of summers past and make the one at hand just as good—nay, better.
If your childhood summers meant lazy, unstructured days, make a concerted effort to relax your schedule a smidge.* If they were about play and exploration, round up some girls for a night of crafting. Me? I'd squeeze every ounce of reading I could into the summer holiday, so this weekend I'll hit the park with a juicy novel. Of course I'll be dressed like this, but hey, it's a mindset!
