Get Dressed: Fuchsia and Florals with Lauren Moffatt

San Francisco is known for its colorful houses, and right around the corner from my building is one of the cheeriest, most vibrant of them all! I've been wanting to work it into a style post for a while, so when these floral Lauren Moffatt shorts made their way into my wardrobe I knew the time had come. When you've got pink, yellow, blue, and green on your hands, it's go big or go home!

Sure I could have worn these soft, silky, flouncy shorts with a plain white tee or an understated blouse. That would have been the sensible thing to do. But at the suggestion of stylist extraordinaire Jen Pinkston, I stepped out of my comfort zone and paired them with a hot pink button down. And a bow tie. And mega heels. And a Panama hat. It was…gosh…so much fun

Mind you, I wouldn't wear this to work. Or to change the cat litter. But I did wear this very thing to a vintage clothing fair and felt right at home, which wouldn't have happened had I been dressed in my usual black pants, grey sweater ensemble. I definitely recommend an outfit as punchy as this one if you're suffering a case of the post-summer blues!
