Is it just me, or has this been a really crummy season for illness so far? Everyone I know has been hit at least once with some miserable contagion. I myself battled a sinus infection for two weeks in December, and now I'm writing to you from bed where I've been laid low by what I'll politely descrbe as a 'stomach situation'. I mean, you know it's bad when not even an excuse to eat Ritz crackers by the sleeveful makes you feel better.
At the risk of sounding like a sad sack, having the flu is especially crummy when you live alone. There's no one to press a cool cloth to your forehead or murmur sympathetically while grumble about your plight. You simply have to be your own best medicine. A good dry brushing followed by a hot shower has the soothing effect of a massage, and when it comes to sick bed attire, only your softest PJ's will do. And hey, if nothing else, it's a chance to catch up on the 'ol Netflix cue!
P.S. Being sick also means lots of reading, and this list of books to read before the movie comes out is a great place to start. Images: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
I feel your pain…Sickness and Aloneness…
I have these little menthol tablets that you drop on the shower floor too…
Hope you {we all} feel better soon.
Oooh – so sorry you’re sick! And I want to read all those books, but especially A Long Way Down. And I can’t wait to watch This Is Where I Leave You – Tina Fey & Jason Bateman? Yes, please.
Anne- Feel better soon!
