I couldn't be happier about this season's leanings towards big chunky knits. They're just right for sinking into when the winds pick up! And even better, I've seen tons of layering—for example topping an intarsia sweater with a swirling scarf, a pom pom beanie, and thick mittens. The whole movement speaks to me of bunnies burrowing down for the winter, only we're the bunnies in question and we're building our own cozy homes out of cardigans and cowl necks.
The layered look is harder to do here in LA (daily highs of 70 degrees don't exactly lend themselves to cable knits and blanket coats) but mornings do get chilly and there's nothing easier than wrapping up in an oversized scarf as I rush out the door with the dogs. Plus I'm headed to visit family in Toronto for the holidays, and you can bet your bottom dollar I'll be maximizing my sweater time while I'm there!
I've especially got my eyes on the cozy goods at Accompany. The site is known for its ethical approach to fashion; everything they carry is artisan made and fair trade. Which not only means that you're building a more sustainable wardrobe, but when it comes to knitwear you'll notice a big difference in the quality and construction of handmade over factory produced. Plus each and every item is selected with an eye to style too. Because cozy bunnies should look just as good as they feel!
